Product schema generator

Product JSON-LD with offers and ratings, checked against the fields Google's product snippet documentation actually requires.

The product

One per line.

Offer

A Product needs at least one of an offer or an aggregate rating to be eligible for a product snippet. Price and currency go together.

Digits only, no currency symbol.

Three-letter ISO 4217 code.

After this date Google may stop showing the price. Leave blank if it does not expire.

Aggregate rating

Only fill this in if the ratings are genuinely on the page and come from your own customers. Ratings you have not collected are a spam policy violation, and they are the thing manual actions land on.

Google assumes 5.

Your JSON-LD

Google requires 2 more fields

  • name
  • offers or aggregateRating (one of them)
<script type="application/ld+json">

Paste this into the head of the product page, once per product. Then check it with Google's Rich Results Test.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TOOL

What does Google actually require for a product snippet?
A name, and at least one of offers, review or aggregateRating. An Offer must carry price and priceCurrency, where the currency is a three-letter ISO 4217 code. An AggregateRating must carry ratingValue plus one of ratingCount or reviewCount. This tool lists exactly what is still missing as you type.
Can I make up the ratings?
No, and this is the field that gets sites penalised. Google requires that ratings come from real reviews collected from your own users and that they are visible on the page. Invented ratings are a structured data spam policy violation and attract a manual action.
Why does availability come out as a URL?
Because ItemAvailability is an enumeration of schema.org entities, so the value is https://schema.org/InStock, not the bare word. Google accepts the full URL form, which is what this tool writes.
What is priceValidUntil for?
It tells Google when the price stops being trustworthy. Once the date passes, Google may stop showing the price in the snippet, so leave it blank rather than setting a date in the past.
What is the difference between a product snippet and a merchant listing?
A product snippet enriches a normal search result for a page about a product. A merchant listing is for pages where the product can actually be bought, and it asks for more: shipping details, return policy and apparel sizing among them. This tool builds the product snippet shape, which is the common case and the foundation of the other.
Does anything here leave my browser?
No. The JSON is built in the browser. Nothing you type is sent to us, logged, or stored.
